Vintage Nautical Lights!

These vintage ship lights are soo cool! I had to get them! There are four of them and would look awesome on the outside of someone's house or on a balcony! They are original and in great shape. Ready to be used! $225 a piece. Hard to find!

Phricken Phish Phans

Well out of all the places I have traveled with a mini van (NYC, Detroit, Camden, NJ, DC...you know all the highest crime rate cities...) it got broken into at a Phish Show in Charlotte! We decided to go to a concert since we were doing a show there and low and behold some darn hippies got us (and four other cars) ....didn't loose much and luckily the posters were at the show! Not very "Crunchy" if you ask me! At least the concert was good!

Rollin on a River!

Above are pics of the house we are renting in Chimney Rock, NC! As you can see it is quite picturesque! Plenty of flowers, plants and dead rats for Casper to roll in (gross...did he have to?)

We see plenty of deer, some sort of water rat or otters, and maybe a badger, beaver or ground hog? Not sure....as you can see, I havent spent too much time living in the woods! Some things are taking a bit to get used to like driving 20 miles to get groceries at Walmart...having to walk and lean over the deck to get phone service, or the hike to the Post Office to get mail bc there is no service...but the beauty makes up for it! Luckily we back right up to Chimney Rock Park where you can hike around and see the waterfall where part of The Last of Mohicans was filmed!

Tubing for the first time was a bit scary...especially when Chris pointed out the water snake while were in there...but luckily I have only been bitten once:)

Of course the lot next to us was empty when we got there...and then a huge rig pulled up with purple lights underneath! I just can't escape them! No, they were fun and left today:)

Makes for a nice retreat to come home to between the La Quintas and Quality Inns:)

The Drive

So...here we go...Betsy' s Southern Road Show.....

The Beginning...

You know that one radio station where that older guy who smoked way too many cigarettes announces in a sultry voice that "The Drive"..."ahhh"...... is going to play some Stevie Ray Vaughn...maybe a little "Texas Flood"... well that is how our trip started out....the drive, the madness, the flood and then the blues....

The rain continued, blew up everyone else's tents but ours! We hung on and hoped that our place in Chimney Rock, NC would be much better.......
